We love to start the day with a brunch at Tableau! Our favorite dishes are the shrimp and grits or the Tableau cheeseburger. They also offer bottomless mimosas and delicious brunch cocktails.
We love to follow brunch with some window shopping around the French Quarter’s many interesting and unique shops. Some of our favorites to always check out: James H. Cohen Antique Weapons & Rare Coins, Fischer-Gambino, and Southern Paws (to pick up treats and toys for Ford!).
Of course, no trip to the Quarter would be complete without picking up lunch at the historic Napoleon House, which offers classic New Orleans dishes at an affordable price. Our favorite dishes are the roast beef po-boy, the muffuletta (served warm!), and, of course, a few cold Pimm’s Cups.
We love to finish our day in the Quarter by grabbing one of our favorite cocktails and continue to explore and take in the sights. Some of our favorite local watering holes include May Baily’s Place (known to be haunted), The Will & The Way (great for a snack too!), Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop (oldest operating bar in America), and Latitude 29 for great tiki drinks and Polynesian food.
Of course, no day in the Quarter would be complete without picking up some Magazine Pizza on the way home! Our favorite menu items are the jalapeño cheesy bread and the Margherita pizza, but it’s all good. They also deliver if you’re too tired after exploring the Quarter to make the trek.
Visit the WWII Museum, explore the historic French Market, peruse art in Jackson Square, book a Walking History or Ghost Tour, explore the riverfront on one of our Riverboat Cruises, visit the Hurricane Katrina museum or the Mardi Gras museum at the Presbytère or Cabildo, listen to some music at Preservation Hall or on Frenchmen Street, or swing by our world-famous Aquarium.
